Lucía Balbontín (n. 1990, Chile) es diseñadora y artista especializada en pintura, grabado, tejido y fotografía, entre otras técnicas.
Su obra artística siempre ha mostrado un profundo interés por la naturaleza, buscando capturar, recordar o recrear diversos elementos y texturas que ha recopilado durante sus viajes por Chile. Le fascinan especialmente las texturas, pues ve en ellas un mundo infinito de información, tanto visual como simbólica, donde cada una es única, irrepetible y efímera. Sus patrones y colores narran la historia de sus transformaciones y experiencias a lo largo de los siglos en los que el planeta se ha formado, moldeado por el tiempo, los cambios climáticos, los encuentros con la vida e innumerables otras fuerzas.
Ha realizado exposiciones individuales, participado en exposiciones colectivas y ferias, y ha sido finalista en varios concursos de arte, obteniendo el segundo lugar en el concurso internacional “Banditto resenency”, Italia.
Entre sus trabajos en encargos y proyectos privados, sus obras han sido adquiridas por clientes como una galería en NY para el Hotel Mandarin Oriental y la fundación FALP en Chile.
Lucía Balbontín (b. 1990, Chile) is a designer and artist specializing in painting, engraving, weaving, and photography, among other techniques.
Her artistic work has always shown a deep interest in nature, seeking to capture, remember, or recreate various elements and textures she has collected during her travels throughout Chile. She is particularly fascinated by textures, as she sees in them an infinite world of information—both visual and symbolic—where each one is unique, unrepeatable, and ephemeral. Their patterns and colors tell the story of their transformations and experiences over the centuries in which the planet has formed, shaped by time, climate changes, encounters with life, and countless other forces.
She has held individual exhibitions, participated in collective exhibitions and fairs, and has been a finalist in several art competitions, obtaining second place in an international competition “Banditto resindency”, Italy.
Among her work on commissions and private projects, her works have been acquired by clients suchs as a gallery in NY for Mandarin Oriental Hotel and FALP foundation in Chile.
